Downloading and Installing a compiled binary
This is by far the most convenient way of installing KLatexFormula, provided a binary version for your
platform exists.
Linux Users Look if a binary package exists for your distribution. If not, you will have to compile KLatexFormula from
source. You may want to check the 3rd-party contributions for binary packages for other platforms than the ones I can compile
packages for. OpenSuSE users please check the note below.
Mac OS X Users Install Latex and ghostscript by some means (eg. Texshop, fink, ...). Then download and install
the DMG Disk Image containing the KLatexFormula
package. NOTE: klatexformula may incorrectly guess font sizes and latex paths; if incorrect, change the configuration in the
settings dialog by clicking on the settings... button in expanded mode.
Windows Users A Windows Installer was created beginning from KLatexFormula 3.0. Download the installer and follow
the wizard instructions. Don't forget to install Latex and GS beforehand (see requirements).
OpenSuSE users
For openSuSE users, a YaST repository has been set up to get KLatexFormula. Add one of the following
repositories, depending on your distribution version:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/phfaist/openSUSE_11.0/
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/phfaist/openSUSE_11.1/
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/phfaist/openSUSE_11.2/
To do that, open YaST (Administrator Settings), go to Software Repositories, Add, Specify URL, type
KLatexFormula for Repository Name and copy-paste the correct URL above in the corresponding
field. Then you can go to Software Management, search for and install the klatexformula
package.
